Traci L. Slatton

This is a great, unexpected treasure of a story that I came across, while I was looking for something else in the library recently. Set in the time of many of the great artistic masters of Florence, during the rise and fall of the Medicis, as well as spanning the course of the Black Plague, the Inquisition, and the establishment of Florence as a great center for learning, banking and business — this book offers a tremendous historical fiction of a fascinating time in history....Ms. Slatton has proven herself a talented story teller, who is able to let the story stand for itself. And the story has the power and ability to take the reader on a true adventure through some of the greatest times of Italian history.
